Hari Raya Cheer to Poor Families in Desa Rejang Flats
During the recent Ramadhan, PPB staff visited 10 poor families from various communities on 18 August 2011 at Desa Rejang flats in Setapak Jaya. PPB gave away goodie bags comprising FFM products, dates, cookies as well as KFC Family Meals for their breaking of fast.
Life is a struggle for these families who have either disabled or sickly persons to care for. Encik Shioun who is wheelchair-bound sells finger food outside a school in the neighbourhood prepared by his wife who is partially blind. They have three children and even with the government monthly aid, there were times the family do not have enough to eat. PPB staff brightened their home with a fresh coat of paint and also bought new clothings for the children to celebrate Hari Raya. This small effort by PPB brought much joy to Encik Shioun and his family and they were very gracious and appreciative.
Another recipient, Amirul, who is 11 years old, is bedridden after a high fever. His mother who is a skilled at crochets received in addition to the goodie bag, a bag of wool and thread for her to start a home business to crochete blouses and table runners whilst caring for Amirul.
It is hoped that PPB's contribution had brought cheer to the families as they celebrated the festive season.
