HARI RAYA CELEBRATION WITH THE RESIDENTS OF PERSATUAN PEMULIHAN ORANG-ORANG CACAT SELANGOR & WILAYAH PERSEKUTUAN
In conjunction with the Hari Raya celebrations, PPB visited the residents of Persatuan Pemulihan Orang-orang Cacat Selangor & Wilayah Persekutuan (PPOC) in Taman Kanagapuram, Petaling Jaya on 21 July 2016.
During the visit, PPB staff played fun games with the residents, followed by a buffet lunch. Thereafter, the residents participated enthusiastically in a colouring session.
PPB contributed a unit each of fabric-cutting machine, facsimile and colour printer, and also donated FFM products and groceries. The visit enabled PPB staff to interact with the residents, and the event ended with the distribution of goodie bags to them.
PPOC was established in 1988 to accommodate the disabled while they participate in rehabilitation programmes to help them develop and achieve their maximum potential, in order to earn a living and improve their quality of life. PPOC currently has 30 residents aged 20 to 54 of which 15 are employed by corporations such as Pizza Hut and TM Call Centre. The others work in the in-house workshop and are paid allowances. PPOC is supported by public funds and the residents pay RM50 a month for accommodation and food.
