FLOOD AID 2022

In December 2022, severe floods in Kelantan affected over 6,000 families and led to numerous road closures, hampering the evacuation of flood victims and the transport of supplies. In response, PPB donated essential food items valued at approximately RM100,000 to the Malaysia International Search and Rescue team, led by Captain Balasupramaniam Krishnan, to distribute to the flood victims in Kelantan.

COMMUNITY CHARITY KIOSK

PPB Properties launched a charity kiosk space at Level 1 of Cheras LeisureMall to empower registered non-governmental organisations and social enterprises with entrepreneurial skills by providing them with a space to sell their products. In February, we welcomed our first NGO, Dual Blessing, which sold its premium handmade cookies, snacks, and drinks at the kiosk. This non-profit organisation provides vocational training to the differently-abled and former drug addicts.

The charity kiosk at Level 1, Cheras LeisureMall, welcomed two new tenants. In April 2022, Silent Teddies Bakery, a social enterprise that provides hearing-impaired youths with training and skills in the F&B industry, joined the kiosk. From May to June 2022, Persatuan STAND, a non-profit organisation that sells handmade pies made by special needs youths, was also part of the kiosk. Persatuan STAND raised more than RM9,000 from their sales, which is a commendable achievement.

The Community Charity Kiosk aims to provide NGOs and social enterprises with an avenue to raise awareness and showcase their initiatives and/or products. The kiosk enables them to reach more potential customers, increase their revenue, and provide them with wider exposure and perspective. It is a great initiative to help these organisations and enterprises to promote their products and generate income while contributing to their cause.
