Board of Directors

Dato' Capt. Ahmad Sufian @ Qurnain bin Abdul Rashid, 74, is the Chairman of the Board of PPB Group Berhad.

Dato’ Capt. Sufian was appointed to the Board on 22 June 2009 as an Independent Director. He was re-designated as a Non-independent Director on 17 May 2023. Dato' Capt. Sufian was elected the Chairman of the Board of Directors on 31 May 2023.

He has over 45 years experience in the international maritime industry and was a former Director and Chairman of GDEX Berhad, WCT Holdings Berhad and Malaysian Bulk Carriers Berhad.

Dato' Capt. Sufian is qualified as a Master Mariner with a Masters Foreign-Going Certificate of Competency from the United Kingdom in 1974 and holds a Diploma in Applied International Management from the Swedish Institute of Management in 1984. He also attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University in 1993.

Dato’ Capt. Sufian is a fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and the Institut Kelautan Malaysia.
